"Let's break the silence" - a compromised photograph by Diego Xulla

The sea for me is basically summer, it is the place where we are licensed to forget everything, the place where life can be left in suspension and where there is no need to ponder anything. A time in parenthesis that occurs after the life we led and before the life we will do… This was until now, from this exhibition the sea will become longings, dreams, hopes but also quite the opposite: it is the place where so many projects sink, the natural boundary between what we want to be and what we really are, the boundary that separates, too often, life and death. We have become accustomed to looking the other way, as in the myth of the cave, with the information that comes to us through the media we think we are aware of what is happening, to protect our sensitivity we believe it is a natural thing, a movement as inevitable as the centripetal force or the rotation of the earth in its translation. A reality that lives another humanity, ours not, that ours would not allow, what happens, happens to others, not us, that we are in the north, that we are up, now… no ??? !!
